In Edinburgh you might be more tempted to go for a roll and something or other, but there are now several places where you can pretend you are in New York and order bagels instead.

BEARDED BAKER

The lovely Rowan Walker (yes he does have a beard!) has opened up his now cafe supplying doughnuts and hand-baked bagels on Rodney Street.

There are lots of fillings to choose from like smoked salmon, cream cheese clava brie and onion chutney. And this baby the Bacon Avocado Tomato on a bagel. The bonus is that if they have run out of bagels then you will just have to have a doughnut…..

THE BEARDED BAKER 46 Rodney Street | Opening Hours Monday to Friday 07.30 to 17:00 Saturday and Sunday 09:00 to 16:00

You can also get Bearded Baker bagels across the city at a variety of outlets including Leo’s Beanery at 23a Howe Street.

BROSS BAGELS

The newest bagel in the bag is at Bross Bagels. About to open on 1 August we can’t yet give them a review, but the photo makes them look lovely!

ELEPHANTS AND BAGELS 37 Marshall Street Edinburgh | Opening Hours : 09:00 to 16:30.

FILAMENT COFFEE

All they sell here is coffee/not coffee and bagels. So don’t even try to ask for anything else. Well actually you can have a piece of chocolate cake if you’re good.
