Scotland lost narrowly to tournament hosts Malaysia in the MABA tournament despite moving to an early 8-0 lead on the back of two three-pointers from Sarah Thomson.

Malaysia closed the gap and finished the first quarter 21-18 ahead but Scotland bounced back and built a seven-point lead by halfway through the quarter.

The hosts then mounted a comeback and by the break the game was tied 37-37.

It continued to be close throughout the second-half and the lead changed hands five times in the third quarter.

Thomson continued her excellent shooting performance and Hannah Robb also played well collecting nine points in ten minutes.

The score was drawn at 53-53 going into the fourth and Scotland struck first through Erin McGarrachan and Dee Hayward.

Malaysia then went on a run and built a 64-59 lead with under four minutes left and they closed the game out.

Scotland play their final game of the MABA tournament when they face Taiwan Fo Guang.
