At the Botanics this Easter you can take part in a family adventure involving the Botanics Easter Bunny and chocolate.

The mini trail book will be a guide to youngsters finding clues and solving them. At the end of the Bonkers Chocolate Easter Trail each and every child taking part will get an Easter treat to take home from the Terrace Café.

Paul Mitchell, Catering Services Director for Sodexo at the Botanics, said: “Easter is a great opportunity for families to get together and what better way to entertain little people than with a fun-filled treasure hunt through the Gardens. At the end of the trail, each participant will receive a free Mackie’s chocolate bar plus have the opportunity to visit a real chocolate tree in the Glasshouses.

“We pride ourselves on using and selling a variety of Scottish-made and grown produce in our cafes and restaurant, and we’d like to say a huge thanks to Mackie’s for their support of this event”.

Marketing Director at Mackie’s of Scotland, Karin Hayhow, said: “We’ve been working as hard as the Easter bunny to make almost half a mile of our chocolate bars, for the chocolate treat at the end of the Bonkers Chocolate Easter Trail.

“The Botanics is such a special part of Edinburgh – and offers the ideal location for the Easter Bunny’s chocolate trail. We hope that thousands of children will have great fun discovering fun facts about the amazing plants and trees there, on their way to enjoying our chocolate treasure – and take the chance to see a real cocoa tree in the glasshouses.”

And Heather Jackson, Director of Enterprise for RBGE commented: “Easter is always an exciting time here at the Garden with an explosion of spring colour. We hope to add to the delight of our visiting family experiences with the very popular Easter Bunny trail over the holiday period.”

Admission to the Gardens is free and the trail costs £2 per child, with each ticket providing a £2 discount for one adult into the Glasshouse. Entry to the Glasshouse for Children under 16 is free.

Families will also be able to get their picture taken with the Botanics Bunny thanks to a special selfie board available at the Terrace Café.
