Cammy Fraser has been a key man for Scotland in their campaign which has seen the squad reach World League 3 for the first time.

The Edinburgh businessman is also skipper of Grange who could make club history if they beat Western Wildcats at Fettes on Saturday.

Fraser’s men sit proudly on top of the men’s Division One table with 46 points from 17 games.

They are one point ahead of defending champions Bromac Kelburne who have a superior goal difference of two, 48 against 46.

Kelburne are also in the Capital to face Edinburgh University at Peffermill at 16.00.

Grange could be crowned champions by then as they push off at 14.00 at Fettes.

Victory for the Edinburgh side would break the stranglehold on the league title enjoyed by Kelburne for over a decade but it will not be easy.

Western have come on strongly in recent weeks and are fourth in the table with 23 points from 17 games.

The West of Scotland based club have only lost once in their last five games, a 2-1 defeat by Edinburgh University on their home ground at Auchenhowie and reports suggested that the students were fortunate to take the points.

They have a battle of their own at the other end of the table. Edinburgh University are sixth with 18 points only one ahead of three other teams, seventh-placed Hillhead, PSL Team Sport Clydesdale, who are eighth, and Watsonians, the former league pace-setters, who are ninth.

Hillhead and PSL clash in Glasgow (13.30) while Watsonians are at third-placed Grove Menzieshill (13.00). It’s a dogfight to decide who faces a relegation/promotion play-off.
