A leading Scottish accountancy firm has selected an Edinburgh charity as their dedicated fundraising partner for the year.
French Duncan, which has an office on Palmerston Place in Edinburgh, as well as other offices in Glasgow, Hamilton, Dumbarton and Stirling, has chosen Children with Cancer and Leukaemia Advice and Support for Parents (CCLASP) as their charity of the year.
Over the coming months, more than 200 members of staff from across the firm hope to raise over £10,000 for the charity through a series of events, including charity runs, bake sales and a pub quiz.
Set up in 1994, CCLASP provides specialist and tailored support to families who are experiencing cancer across Scotland. The charity offers a variety of services including free bespoke transport to hospital appointments, advice, and respite care for cancer sufferers and their loved ones.
In 2016, French Duncan staff raised more than £10,500 for Paisley-based charity, Brightest Star. In April, 17 staff took part in the Glasgow Kiltwalk which saw the organisation raise close to £2,000. The business also organised a pub quiz at Glasgow’s Grand Central Hotel – an event which was attended by more than 180 people from companies across the city, including Clydesdale Bank, Bank of Scotland and MacRoberts. Other events included a dress-up Halloween party and a summer barbeque.

Giving back to charity is a key part of French Duncan’s activity and we look forward to participating in a range of challenges over the year ahead.”
CCLASP Founder and Managing Director, Valerie Simpson, said: “We were absolutely delighted when we heard the employees of French Duncan had chosen us as their charity partner for 2017 and we are really looking forward to working with them to help raise funds for the families all over Scotland who have children suffering from cancer related illnesses.”
