Hannah Peacock (white vest) fights for the ball against Wildcats

Hannah Peacock top scored with 15 points as Caledonia Pride rocked league pace-setters Nottingham Wildcats in the second-half of their last Women’s British Basketball League outing.
And the in-form player urged the squad to produce an action replay of that display when they entertain Manchester Mystics at The Oriam, Riccarton, on Saturday 1pm.
Pride eventually lost 63-49 to Wildcats but the girls left the court believing they could have produced a real upset.
Mystics, who are third in the table, pose a threat and Peacock said Pride must cut down on turnovers if they want to record a confidence-boosting win.
He said: “We’ve had two weeks to work on things since the Nottingham game and we are getting it together.
“Obviously, scoring 15 points in a game is great personally but the aim is to help the team and we believe we are moving in the right direction.”
Meanwhile, Ben Gunn, Kats’ head coach, admitted that his pace-setting women’s basketball team were punished by a great performance from Lady Rocks as they crashed to their first defeat of the season last weekend.
On Saturday, Kats play Edinburgh University and Gunn is looking for a reaction.
He said: “We weren’t at our best last weekend and we’ve been working on our defence at training to ensure we do a better job in limiting chances for our opponents.
“We also need to get back to playing our fast-paced game that served us so well in the first half of the season.”
He added: “We know every game is going to be tough now that the league has split and we won’t be taking anything for granted on Saturday.”
They can’t afford any slip-ups as Kats currently sit two games ahead of their closest rivals, Falkirk Fury, who have lost three games.
High-flying Kings are closing in on the championship title and they will achieve that if they win each one of their next six games.
Captain Craig Reilly sits out as he serving a two-match suspension but the squad welcomes back former player Neil Rowan.
Kings will also have junior Scotland cap Ryan Armour in the squad to boost their depth.
Kings and Kool Kats under-16 and 18 squads head to Perth and Inverness for league fixtures and the club field teams across 13 matches in the under-10, under-12 and under-14 regional development leagues.
