EDINBURGH Monarchs’ star Sam Masters will also ride in Britain’s top league next season.

Wolverhampton Wolves have re-signed the popular Australian and it means that the Midlands club have retained five members of their winning side from last season.

Chris Van Straaten, Wolves co-promoter, said: “We’re delighted Sam can continue with Wolverhampton and we’re really pleased we are able to keep our top three from last year’s side because it isn’t often the title winners can manage to do that.

“It’s a good move for the club and the team spirit because they all get on very well, and we’re very excited for what they can achieve again next season.

“We felt Sam showed a huge amount of maturity and progress last season. He certainly helped us and I think we helped him to an extent as well.”
