FIXTURE: Sunday, 27 November, Scottish National League: Edinburgh Capitals v Dundee Tigers (8.30pm)
Dundee Tigers travel to Edinburgh Capitals on Sunday keen to claim a Scottish National League (SNL) double over the Murrayfield men.
The Tayside team inflicted a 3-0 defeat on the Capitals when the sides met in September but Ian Carstairs, Tigers’ experienced defenceman, said: “Murrayfield is a tough place to get a result.
“Caps use the ice well and it suits their fast, breaking game. It is made more difficult for visiting teams when the face-off is late on a Sunday night and guys who get regular experience at Elite level drop down to ice for their SNL team. You can see that when you compare the Capitals (form) home and away this season.”
Carstairs added: “We’ve got to approach this match sensibly. If we get drawn in too deep we’ll be punished for it, but we’ve also got to be confident of our own abilities.
“We’ve got guys right through the team who can chip in with goals and, if we play to our strengths, there’s no reason we can’t bring home the points.”
