Once again Summerhall hosted the annual gin event, Juniper Festival, successfully hosting over thirty products over the weekend, providing platforms for masterclasses and lectures on the spirit.
The venue, which is renowned for distilling Pickerings, with its many rooms and outdoor courtyard, is ideal for hosting a gourmet drinks festival such as this.
With stalls from the Spanish-influenced brand, Valentia (which is based in Edinburgh), Edinburgh Gin, Isle of Harris Gin, Daffy’s and the obvious Pickerings, attendees were indulged with samples of the brands along with all their variations.
Vibrant, botanical and intoxicating, Juniper Festival opened the door for Edinburgh residents and visitors to taste, sample and discuss oak-casked limited edition gins, gin liqueurs as well as the all-important tonics.
Lively and packed I would suggest that this festival is not going anywhere soon. In fact with the number of brands always on the increase I can only suggest that there is only room for growth.
