Hibs’ striker Farid El Alagui is looking forward to the new season and is confident that the team will get promoted back to the top flight.
The former Falkirk and Brentford player started the last campaign in fine form until a serious injury meant that he missed much of the season, only returning for the last few games. Since then however he has undergone some more surgery which has left him raring to go.
Speaking to Hibs TV, El Alagui said: “As it was last year, we’ve got nothing to fear at all.
“We just need to focus on ourselves because we’ve got a strong team. We are Hibernian – if we concentrate on what we do then I’m really confident that we can get promoted.
“As soon as last season finished, I couldn’t wait for the new one to start. It feels like we’ve not finished what we started last year.
“I’m really excited and we’ve had some really good players sign for us – it’s great news for the club.
“It shows that we want to build a strong team for this season and for years after that.
“I’m really happy with that and I can’t wait to kick on again.”
“At the end of the season, we decided with the medical team to have a clean-up operation on my knee because it was giving me some problems.
“We thought it would be a good idea to get it done then, so that I could start the new season fresh.
“Everything went well and I’ve recovered quickly, so now it’s all about build-up for the upcoming season.”
