Police are appealing for witnesses following a robbery at a branch of Subway in Leith yesterday evening.
The incident happened at around 10.40pm at Subway at the foot of Leith Walk when two men entered the store, and after threatening staff they made off with a three figure sum in cash from the till.
The two suspects were seen making their escape through Tesco’s in Duke Street and out the back car park. Police detained a 39-year-old man at the scene but officers are looking to trace the second suspect.
This second suspect is described as white, with short dark hair, in his late 20s, medium build and height and wearing a dark jacket, grey shirt and blue jeans.
Detective Sergeant Clark Martin said: “While our officers detained one of the suspects, we are appealing for any witnesses to help trace the second man. Anyone who was in the area of Kirkgate and Duke Street around 10.40pm to 11pm, and who may have seen two men running in the area of Tesco’s, is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
