policePolice in Edinburgh are appealing for information to help trace a man reported missing from the Capital.

Douglas McNaught from Saughton Mains Terrace was last seen in his Ford Focus car within the Newmachar Road area of Aberdeen at around 4.30am this morning.

The 66-year-old had not informed family or friends of his intentions to travel to the region and has not been spotted since this time.

In addition, he has not returned to his home address and concern is now growing for his welfare.

Anyone who can assist in tracing Douglas is asked to come forward.

He is described as white, 5ft 7ins tall with a slim build, short grey hair, brown eyes and has missing teeth in his mouth. It is not known what he was wearing, but he often uses spectacles and has a nude cartoon figure tattooed on his left arm.

Inspector Bob Innes said: “We want to establish Douglas’s whereabouts as soon as possible and ensure he is alright.

“He has access to his vehicle and can travel freely around the country, so anyone who believes they have seen him within Edinburgh, Aberdeen, or any other area is asked to contact police immediately.

“In addition, I would request that Douglas get in touch with us to let us know he is safe and well.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.
