Grange Cricket Club women have been crowned Premier League 30 Champions for the first time, testament to the club’s focus on developing and promoting youth.

By winning 11 of their 12 games Grange delivered consistent performances, in particular co-captain and wicket-keeper Beatrice Lusty (317 runs) who led from the front.

Also, opener Clare Levings contributed 264 runs from six matches including two half centuries and one century while Cecilia Beddison chipped in with 160 runs.

Among the bowlers wickets were distributed amongst pacers Chloe Milburn, the co-captain, Bareera Gul, Aishwarya Chaudhary and spinners Aditi Patwari and Clare Levings.

Head Coach Sharez Omer Khan said: “Absolutely delighted for all the players as they become part of history becoming the first Grange team to win the Womens Premier League 30. To see everyone’s hard work, dedication and energy drive us to the WPL30 championship is a real credit to how far we have come in recent years. Some of our players have come through our pathways and combined really well with the senior players who have played a crucial role in mentoring the younger ones, creating a special culture. We are improving regularly and feel there is much more to come, making for an exciting future at Grange.”
