Former Hibs star Ian Murray has been named the Scottish Championship’s Manager of the Month for January following three wins out of three for his Dumbarton side, racking up 11 goals in the process.
Dumbarton began the month with a 2-0 home victory over Morton before notching up impressive away wins against Cowdenbeath (4-2) and Alloa (5-1).
The impressive form of the team sees them in contention for a promotion play-off spot, with a Scottish Cup quarter final away to Aberdeen to look forward to in March.
Murray said: “It’s a real team effort at Dumbarton and I accept the accolade on behalf of my staff and players.
“We had three fantastic performances against Morton, Cowdenbeath and then Alloa and scored eleven goals in the process.”
