Stand by your phone or your computer. The tickets for Edinburgh International Festival go on sale in the morning…. Organisers recommend Festival fans act quickly to secure tickets to unmissable shows this August.
Tickets are available from 10am on Saturday 23 March online at eif.co.uk, by phone on+ 44 (0)131 473 2000, or in person at Hub Tickets, Castlehill, Edinburgh, EH1 2NE.
Edinburgh International Festival 2013 brings together artists from around the world in a programme which includes the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra with Daniele Gatti and the Festival debut of Oper Frankfurtwith director Barrie Kosky; a crowd sourced orchestral work being brought together by Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Tod Machover and the ground-breaking anatomical drawings of Leonardo da Vinci juxtaposed with the latest medical technology; a tribute to Frank Zappa focusing on his orchestral music, and a new commission from Laurie Anderson for Bang on a Can All-Stars; Richard Burton and Scott Shepherd playing Hamlet and mini festivals within a Festival of Samuel Beckett with Gate Theatre Dublin and Pan Pan Theatre, and dance with Scottish Ballet; an exploration of the evolution of instruments such as the clarinet with Nicola Boud, and keyboard instruments with Christophe Rousset; and an homage to Allen Ginsberg by Philip Glass and Patti Smith.
And bringing Festival 2013 to a spectacular close will be the ever popular Virgin Money Fireworks Concert performed by the Scottish Chamber Orchestra. Priority entry tickets go on sale this Saturday.

Ticket prices remain great value starting at just £4.
From 23 March, under-18s and students in full time education can buy any ticket at 50% off on selected performances. More great discounts become available in the run up to the Festival.
People with a disability can buy the seats most suited to them for the lowest (unrestricted view) ticket price for that performance. Their companion’s ticket will be free.
