Lothian and Borders Police are appealing for help from the public in reuniting a number of items of suspected stolen jewellery with their rightful owners.

As a result of an ongoing investigation across the Force area, a number of items of jewellery have been recovered and have not yet been returned to their rightful owners.

A police spokesperson said: “We appreciate some items might not have been reported as stolen to the police, with people instead thinking they’ve been lost or misplaced, but we would encourage anyone who recognises any of the items in the pictures to contact us – it might just reunite them with something sentimental.

“It is possible that these rings may have been stolen from anywhere across the Force area, including Edinburgh, East Lothian, Midlothian, West Lothian and the Scottish Borders.

“It may well be that the rings have all been stolen from one housebreaking, or it could be the case that each of the rings has a different owner.

“If you believe you are the rightful owner of any of this jewellery, please get in touch with us as soon as you can.”

Anyone with any information relating to these items should contact Lothian and Borders Police on 0131 311 3131.
