Edinburgh writer Adrian J Walker will be taking a novel approach to sharing his debut literary thriller From the Storm with festival-goers this August. Walker will leave one copy of his book in locations all over Edinburgh on each day of our world famous Festival. Whoever picks up a copy of the book will be encouraged to read it and pass it on. Each book will be numbered and contain a personal message from the author and he hopes that each reader will log the book on his website so that he can track its journey.
Walker first self-published From the Storm earlier in the year using Amazon’s KDP Select platform. He watched as nearly 14,000 people worldwide downloaded his book during the three day free promotion in March. Since then he’s worked to make the book available on other platforms such as the Apple bookstore, Diesel, Barnes & Noble and Smashwords.
The Edinburgh Reporter chats with Walker as he discusses the potential of digital publishing as well as the thrill of holding a copy of his paperback for the first time.
Keep an eye out for From the Storm this August around Edinburgh’s cinemas and cafes.
