Nicola Sturgeon MSP, the Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Health and Wellbeing, cuts the first turf for the start of building a new Healthy Living Centre at Wester Hailes, Edinburgh.

Pictured with Ms Sturgeon is NHS Lothian chairman Charles Winstanley.

The Wester Hailes Healthy Living Centre is a joint development between NHS Lothian and The City of Edinburgh Council. It will be one of the first projects in Scotland delivered by the newly established HubCo for south-east Scotland – a government agency for projects capital management. The centre will include the Wester Hailes Medical Practice and a range of NHS Lothian community health services, City of Edinburgh Council staff from the Health and Social Care and Children and Families departments, together with the local voluntary organisation, the Wester Hailes Health Agency.
