The Reporter has been all over the newly refurbished Museum of Scotland and we have published our article about that here. It is really lovely that there is now a restaurant on the first level overlooking the main atrium. Sadly for us wifi afficionados, there is none in the building yet for the public to use. We hope that there will be soon, so that we can use the Museum as one of our stopping-off places.
An empty train came off the tracks last night just next to Princes St Gardens and this is causing all sorts of problems for commuters this morning. As Waverley is only one of two Edinburgh railway stations we have to wonder why this means that Scotrail are now bussing people around, and the Dunblane service ends at Linlithgow? The British Council puts on a showcase event at the Festival during the Fringe and invites people involved in booking shows to be in the audience.
The south side of Charlotte Square has become a battle zone according to The Scotsman who detail the plans of the developer to turn the former National Trust for Scotland HQ into a financial hub. The problem is that the scheme would involve demolition of some mews buildings to the rear, which has angered some organisations such as The Cockburn Association.
