Edinburgh’s award winning Italian restaurants Vittoria on the Bridge and La Favorita will play host to a ladies night with a difference tonight in order to raise money for one of the city’s top children’s charities.
The restaurants on Leith Walk and George IV Bridge will host their 5th annual International Women’s Day fundraiser, in order to celebrate the date which is designed to inspire women to celebrate their achievements all over the world.
On March 8, the restaurants will become a man-free zone as women from across the capital descend on the venue to be treated to a night of fine Italian food, pampering, shopping and live entertainment.
Over the past 5 years the event has raised thousands of pounds for Radio Forth’s Cash For Kids appeal, which provides grants for disabled and disadvantaged children in Edinburgh, The Lothians and Fife.
This year the team at Vittoria and La Favorita are hoping to raise even more money for the charity by raffling a series of prizes, including a meal for four at Vittoria on the Bridge, champagne, wine and pampering treats.
Beauty experts from some of the city’s local beauty salons will also be on hand to provide relaxation and pampering all night, offering guests complementary makeovers, facials and manicures, designed to make them feel extra special.
Ladies will be further entertained by the UK’s top Elvis impersonator Danny Allan, who will showcase some of the King’s classic songs including ‘Suspicious Minds’, ‘Return To Sender’ and ‘Jail House Rock’.
Tony Crolla owner of the Vittoria Restaurant Group said: “Our International Women’s Day has always been one of our most popular nights, with the past two years being sold out and we are hoping that this year will be the same.
“It’s a fantastic night and this year there are some great things in store including lots of pampering, fine food and wine and of course the one and only Danny Allan who is always a hit with the ladies.
“International Women’s Day is a chance for women to come together and unite globally whilst celebrating at a local level. We have always supported the Cash For Kids appeal and are hoping that this year’s event will see us raise another significant amount of money for them.”
Tickets for the event cost £22 and include a champagne reception, a three course meal and complementary beauty treatments. The event takes place on March 8 from 7pm at Vittoria on the Bridge on George IV Bridge and La Favorita on Leith Walk.
