The Planning Local Review Body meets this morning at the City Chambers at 10.00am.

You can see the agenda and all reports  on the Council website.

One of the properties to come before the meeting is 10 & 11 Atholl Crescent Lane which the owners hope to return from office use to residential. Number 10 is to be a self-contained house and Number 11 is to be divided into 4 houses.  This is  a listed building, and two things stand out:- one is the number of times the applicant is reminded that any new houses will only be entitled to one parking permit each, and the other is that the planners lament the fact that the original fireplaces have been removed.

Another address under scrutiny today is 438 Lanark Road which lies within the Colinton Conservation Area. The application is to extend the existing children’s nursery, but has been refused on the grounds of the danger that the extra traffic would pose.

An application to put in a driveway at the front of the house at 72 South Trinity Road was refused on the grounds that this is a conservation area, and removal of the wall would alter the appearance.

Any plans relating to these applications can also be viewed online by way of the Planning Portal which is on the Council website.
