Kasia Kokowska blogs under the name KasiasBlogging or, when you reach the welcome page, Clockwork Orange. She is as you have guessed, Polish, and has come to live in Edinburgh. Her latest post is to publicise a fund-raising event this weekend for a little boy, Antek, who needs some heart surgery.

She explains:-“So… I’m one of the milion Polish people who have invaded the UK recently. Unlike most of them I don’t work as a kitchen porter, I do speak English and I’m sharing my expat’s experiences here.”

Who are you and what do you do?
Manager 5-9, blogger and writer in my free time. I moved to Edinburgh 5 years ago from the East Point, where I had moved a year before from Warsaw, Poland.

What made you start writing a blog?
The very first blog I’ve ever had was an experiment – I wanted to have a go at creating my own website. It was also a channel for contacting friends and family and letting them know how I was doing. Clockwork Orange was created as a mean to improve my writing skills in English which is my second language.

What purpose is your blog serving?
The main purpose has always been improving my writing skills. But over the time it has always become a way of meeting new people.

Why did you choose WordPress/Blogger or other platform?
Blogger – I wanted a platform that allows playing with HTML.

Do your visitor numbers matter to you? Would you tell us what they are?
It does not matter that much  – quality over quantity in this case, so I’m happy to have a few readers that care to comment every now and then and keep in touch than thousands just popping in. My blog has not been created to be popular, but rather my own little online space to share experiences.

What do you think you could do to improve your blog?
I should definitely post more often and perhaps invite guest bloggers from time to time.

What plans do you have for the future of your blog?
Keep on blogging – I’ve been doing it for 6 years now and wouldn’t survive long without it.
