Hibs head coach David Gray is looking for a ‘complete 90-minute performance’ from his players at Celtic Park this afternoon.

Hibs travel to Glasgow off the back of a frustrating 2-2 draw with Falkirk in midweek.

The result means Hibs remain unbeaten in the William Hill Premiership, with seven points from our opening five games.

Ahead of the trip to Celtic Park, Gray emphasised the importance of putting in a complete performance from start to finish.

He told Hibs TV: “Celtic Park is always a tough place to go, and we know how difficult the test will be.

“But I’ve reminded the players that we’re still unbeaten in the league. What we haven’t done yet is put in a complete performance from start to finish — and that’s exactly what we’ll need to do if we want to give ourselves the best chance of taking three points on Saturday.

“It’s a tough game, no doubt. But it’s one the players should look forward to. We have to go into it with belief, but also with the mindset that this is a chance to compete against a top team. That’s the attitude we’ve taken into our European games, and it’ll be the same this weekend.”

With the quick turnaround between fixtures, Gray provided a team news update including the latest on Club Captain – Joe Newell – who is nearing a return to full fitness.

“Joe hasn’t been able to train fully with the group this week due to the demands of a three-game schedule, so we’ve had to manage his workload.

“But, he’s had a positive week, and another big session tomorrow will be key. All being well, he’ll rejoin the squad next week — not in time for the derby, but it’ll be great to have him back in and around the group.”
