Stuart Dennis has gone back to his rugby roots by taking up the coaching reins at East Division Two rugby club, Forrester.
The ex-forward cut his teeth in rugby at Forrester HS graduating to various age group representative sides and actually made a debut for Edinburgh Wanderers, aged 17.
Earlier he had been helping coach Forrester mini and midi rugby teams.
In moving from Thebans back to the Broomhouse based outfit after a four year stint – he also had a spell coaching at Royal High – Stuart said: “I’m honoured to take the role of head coach at Forrester. This is a proud club with a rich history and a bright future.”
In welcoming the appointment Forrester said in a statement: “Stuart brings a wealth of experience, strong leadership and a genuine passion for developing players and building successful team environments. His vision, ambition and commitment to driving standards on and off the pitch make him the ideal person to lead our senior squad into an exciting new chapter.”
- With Broughton withdrawing from the Arnold Clark sponsored leagues according to the SRU website Forrester have to wait a week to launch their league campaign at home to Hawick Harlequins on Saturday, 12 September.
- One club back after dropping out last season due to lack of players are Royal High who, after enforced relegation, continue in East Division Three.
