An investigation is underway after significant damage was caused to an East Lothian play park.
Around 1145am on Sunday 16 August 2026, a fire was reported to Scottish Fire and Rescue Service at Muirfield Play Park, off Muirfield Terrace, Gullane.
Thankfully, nobody was injured, but a significant amount of damage has been caused to the play park, leaving a much-loved community facility badly affected.
Police Constable Sean Dryden, from the East Lothian Community Action Team, said “Enquiries are ongoing into this incident, and I am appealing to anyone who may have information to come forward.
“If you live nearby, please check private CCTV, doorbell cameras, or other footage from the evening.
“Even footage that may appear insignificant could assist Police in establishing what happened.”
