Hibs host Motherwell tomorrow Sunday (16 August) in the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League and aim to get off to a winning start.

Hibs have welcomed several new summer signings to the team, and Hibs Vice Captain Ellis Notley, as a leader within the squad, believes the fresh faces have settled in well and will be ready to make an impact.

Notley said: “We’re all extremely looking forward to it, both staff and players. It’s been a good pre-season.

“It’s been tough, but certainly we’re fully focused on the game on Sunday. It’s one you look to at the start of the season and we hope to start strong.

“We’ve introduced a lot of new players into the squad. I think pre-season has been the perfect opportunity for us to get to know each and every one of us on and off the pitch, and see how we like to play, how we can interact and improve week-on-week.

“It’s been good to welcome new players to the Club, and now we can start the season and show what the new players can do.

“I think the full time I’ve been at Hibs, there’s always been a family feel.

“And I think alongside other players like Rachael [Boyle], Shiv [Hunter] and also the staff, we want to ensure that carries on, and to be as welcoming as we can and make sure everyone feels comfortable regardless of where they’ve come from, from over the world.

“That’s something we always look to do and hopefully the new players can say that’s how they have felt.”

Following Murray’s appointment as Head Coach in December 2025, Hibs enjoyed an impressive end to the campaign winning nine league games with seven clean sheets.

“It was extremely positive to finish the season strong,” Notley said. “We probably wanted to reach a bit higher last season, but unfortunately that never happened.

“So to finish the season strong and have a strong pre-season on the back of that is extremely important, and hopefully we can start this season well and see where it takes us.

“We’ve done our analysis of Motherwell and we know they’re a good team both in and out of possession. They’ve got threats, especially through their strikers, we need to be wary of them.

“But we’ve trained for them well this week and we focused on us both in and out of possession, and we’ll need to take everything that we’ve worked on into the game on Sunday and hopefully start positively.”
