Robert McIntyre received a tremendous ovation as he teed-off in the fourth and final round of the Genesis Scottish Open and the Scot moved one clear of the field on 13-under thanks to a low fade to the left of the flag. He sunk an 8ft putt for a birdie four. Cheers rang around the course.
A par-four at the next was followed by another at the par-three third and his army of fans cheered every move.
South Korean Tom Kim, playing in the second last group, was threatening and the 24-year-old improved two shots from 11-under overnight to join MacIntyre on 13-under after four holes.
Chris Gotterup, the defending champion, playing alongside Kim, also advanced from his overnight position of 11-under, but they were under threat.
Victor Perez, playing six groups ahead, started on minus-seven but shot up the leaderboard to minus 11 thanks to four birdies in his first eight holes and and Rory McIlroy, tied 26th overnight after a 73 on Saturday to slide to minus six, was on the charge.
He also hit four birdies on the outward nine to be three shots behind MacIntyre on ten-under at the turn.
Australian professional, Kim Si Woo, was in the frame also at ten under, after three birdies in the first eight holes.
They were the major movers and shakers in the final round played in blustery conditions on the par-70 links course near North Berwick.
