Substitute Alexander Kyziridis was at the centre of controversy at Fir Park when the Jambos was felled in the box, the Greek feeling it was a penalty.
Referee Steven McLean waved his pleas aside and Hearts ended the night dropping two points in Lanarkshire.
The Greek was convinced he was fouled and it was a penalty, so was his head coach, Derek McInnes, told Sky Sports that referee McLean “had a bad night”.
Now, Hearts are focused on Falkirk, but they have picked up seven points from their three post-season fixtures, wins over Hibs and Rangers and a 1-1 draw with Motherwell.
Kyziridis told Sky Sports: “I felt something on my leg. For me it is a clear penalty. You cannot change anything, we need to be focused on Wednesday. It is what it is.”
McInnes said: “It should be a penalty kick. We can all have poor nights, but the biggest decision of the lot he gets that wrong. It is so important he gets that right. The explanation to me is that there is contact, but I do not think there is enough contact.
“Everybody will tell you who has played the game that it does not need a lot of contact, there is contact. You are going at speed and you are fouled. Why would Kyziridis go down? It is a penalty kick. I am disappointed. He had a bad night, Steven McLean.”
Finally, McInnes confirmed that Marc Leonard and Craig Halkett (pictured in training by Nigel Duncan) have both suffered Achilles injuries and are out for what remains of the William Hill Premiership season.
