Cormac Daly is the latest signing by ambitious Hearts and the attacking midfielder joins the Jambos on a two-year deal after leaving English Premier League side Nottingham Forest.
The 19-year-old was a member of the youth system at Hamilton Academical, and was part of their under-18 league-winning team of 2023, before moving south to sign his first professional contract.
He played in the club’s under-18 and under-21 sides as well as being loaned to Lincoln United and Hereford.
The teenager told Hearts official website: “I got a phone call from Hearts, and I talked to some of the people at the club about what they’re trying to do here, and they have a good plan.
“It’s something that I really wanted to be part of and it really excited me.”
Daly described himself as being direct, quick, with a bit of flair, and he said: “I enjoyed my time at Nottingham Forest. It was three years of my life that went by fast but being there, away from home, helped me to develop both on and off the pitch.
“Going out on loan was a big thing for me too, in terms of being able to get a taste of senior football. I’m thankful I got to do it.”
He added: “Moving to England three years ago was a step up for me, but I’d like to think I proved I could handle it. The challenge is now to prove once again that I can handle coming to a massive club like Hearts.”
Meanwhile, new signing Amadou Ba-Sy misses the trip to Spain for a week of warm-weather training through illness. The 25-year-old French forward will, however, continue working with the fitness team at The Oriam while the squad are away.
