E-bike company, Voi will offer voters across the UK free e‑bike rides to get to and from their polling stations for the elections taking place on 7 May 2026, when people will be voting for MSPs to represent them at the Scottish Parliament.
Harry Foskin, senior public policy manager at Voi UK, said: “The decisions taken on 7 May will shape how our streets work – from where bike lanes are built to how much space is given to walking, cycling and public transport.
“Local councils, mayors and devolved governments play a huge role in that.”
To help people take part, Voi will provide two free 15‑minute rides per user via the Voi app, valid only on polling day.
Harry Foskin added: “We want to make it as easy as possible for people to have their say, while travelling in a cleaner, greener way.”
“Shared e‑scooters and e‑bikes are already helping people in cities across the UK to connect to public transport, cut congestion and reduce emissions.
He said: “By offering free rides to polling stations, we hope more people will choose to vote, and see first‑hand how sustainable transport can support vibrant, liveable communities.”
Voi is calling for local leaders and devolved governments elected on 7 May to:
Back safe, high‑quality infrastructure for walking, cycling and scooting.
Use shared micromobility to complement buses and trains, improving first‑ and last‑mile connectivity.
Work in partnership with operators to set clear, locally appropriate rules on parking, safety and fleet size.
Ensure inclusive access so that people of all ages and backgrounds can benefit from affordable, low‑carbon transport.
Riders are reminded to follow the Highway Code, wear a helmet, and never drink and ride, or ride on pavements.
E-scooters are still illegal in Scotland except on privately owned roads.
