Glasgow boss Cami Brown believes Tigers need to come out all guns blazing against Plymouth in the MAXiCab KO Cup, quarter-final, first-leg at Ashfield on Friday (7.30pm).
The Allied Vehicles Tigers take on the Devon side in the first leg of their minus two riders, Leon Flint and Mario Hausl, who are both racing in the European Championship. Nick Morris and Simon Lambert come in as guests.
Gladiators arrive in Glasgow with track experts Danny King, Scott Nicholls, Ben Barker and Joe Thompson and Brown said: “Plymouth are definitely a different proposition this season. They have four guys who really love Ashfield and that will make it tough for us.
“They have also produced two really strong home wins, that means we’ll need a big lead to take to their place on Saturday.
“We are also without Leon Flint who has been flying so far this season. Mario Hausl was also beginning to get in his stride for us as well.
“So, the odds are stacked against us and I think we need to come out all guns blazing to get a big lead at Ashfield. That will help us take control of the tie.”
Tigers KO Cup record has been poor since winning it in 2016. The club have not qualified for a final since and Brown said: “We have two good guests in Nick Morris and Simon Lambert, but all the boys have to pull together. Every point is going to matter.”
