Muhammad Khubaib will go into this season’s East cricket championship with his Edinburgh club under a heavy spotlight having led the promotion charge from division one last season.
Khubaib, pictured wearing sunglasses alongside 2025 captain Mateen Butt hit a hugely impressive 918 runs including a high of 134 versus Livingston. For good measure he also took 32 wickets.
Not to be outdone Butt, who retains the captaincy for championship fixtures, had 865 runs.
Skippering the 2nd X1 in division two will be Sheraz Mahmood while Adeel Ashraf captains the 3rd X1 in division six.
Secretary Adeel said: “Our aspiration is to build a thriving junior section that develops confident young cricketers both on and off the field.
“We aim to create an inclusive, structured pathway for children of all abilities introducing them to the fundamentals – teamwork, discipline and sportsmanship.
“By investing in quality coaching, safe facilities and community partnerships we want to nurture the next generation of players while strengthening our clubs long term sustainability.”
Tayyab Hassan retains the club presidency while Sohail Ashraf continues as treasurer.
