Police are treating a hit and run collision which resulted in a 36-year-old man being taken to hospital as attempted murder.
The incident took place on Lochend Drive shortly before 10pm last night Tuesday 3 February 2026.
The area was cordoned off to facilitate the investigation and officers say that their enquiries to trace the vehicle and driver are ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.50pm on Tuesday, 3 February, 2026, we were called to a report of a collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle on Lochend Drive in Edinburgh.
“Emergency services attended and the pedestrian, a 36-year-old man, was taken to hospital for treatment.
“The vehicle failed to stop at the scene. Officers are treating the incident as attempted murder and enquiries are ongoing to trace the vehicle and driver.”
