Cramond Angling Club extend an open invitation to attend the official start of the fly fishing season on The Almond on Saturday (February 7) .
They administer an eight-mile section of the river from Newbridge to the estuary at Cramond and the opening ceremony is at 9.30am. It is at the Waterfall at Cramond near School Brae, Cramond.
You can bring your rod to the opening providing you have bought a licence online at Fishing Around the Forth.
A BBQ and light refreshments are promised.
The club have pegged their prices for this year. The are £10 for an adult day permit, £5 for an adult senior citizens day permit, £5 for a student day permit and £2 for a child’s day permit.
Anglers can also buy a season pass which is £40 (adult), £30 (senior citizen), £15 for a student and £5 for a child season.
