Hibs midfielder Jacob MacIntyre will remain on loan at Arbroath until the end of the 2025/26 season. 

The extension of the loan deal, also sees Hibs officially enter into a Cooperation Agreement with Arbroath – allowing the seamless movement of loan players between the two clubs. 

The 19-year-old midfielder has played 16 times for the Red Litchies in the William Hill Championship so far this campaign, scoring twice and providing two assists.

His performances have helped guide Arbroath to third-place after 20 matches played, while he has also performed for the club in the Scottish Cup and KDM Evolution Trophy. 

Part of the Hibernian FC Academy from the age of nine, MacIntyre made his senior First Team debut in March 2024 in a 3-0 victory over Livingston in the Scottish Premiership. 

Last season, he enjoyed a strong season in Scottish League One – playing 27 times for Kelty Hearts; scoring three times and helping guide Kelty to a sixth-place finish. 

Head coach David Gray, commented: “Jacob is a talented young player, with real potential, and he is clearly benefiting from playing regular minutes of senior football at a very competitive level.

“He has had an excellent first half of the season at Arbroath, and we are looking forward to closely following his progress in 2026.”
