Hibs striker Kieron Bowie is in Italy finalising a big money move to Hellas Verona.
The striker was pictured leaving Edinburgh Airport earlier today and spoke to Sky Sports before boarding his flight.
The fee is believed to be in the region of £6m which sees a substantial profit for Hibs who signed him from Fulham for a reported £600,000.
He said: “I’ve had 18 months at Hibs now and I’ve done extremely well there. They’ve done extremely well for me so I think for all parties it is good.
“Italy appeals (to me) there’s obviously a lot of people from Scotland who have went there and have done well.
“It opens a lot of opportunities for myself and my family which is the main thing.”
Bowie won his first cap against Liechtenstein last June and also featured against Belarus in October.
And he is hoping that the move will enhance his World Cup chances.
He added: “It’s a top league and everyone wants to do as well as they can. I’ve spoken a lot about the World Cup over the past few months. That’s the idea.”
When asked if he leaves the club with fond memories, he replied: “Of course. There are a few bad ones as well in there but those are the ones that fans remember. I’ve had a good 18 months there.
“I’ve not played as much as I wanted to but I’ve helped the club and they’ve helped me.”
