Hibs head coach David Gray believes that yesterday’s 3-0 victory over Falkirk in the William Hill Premiership will provide a platform to build on ahead of some important games.

Two goals from Kieron Bowie and a Martin Boyle spot-kick sealed the three points in what was a relatively comfortable victory at Easter Road.

When speaking after the game, David Gray gave his thoughts on the performance.

“I’m very pleased. 3-0 at home, clean sheet, and the result gives us a platform to build on going into a run of important fixtures.

“Our first half performance was excellent; the players started the game exactly how I asked them too. We could’ve been a cleaner in the final third or made better decisions, but like I said, I thought we were dominant first half and deserved to be ahead at the break.

“Credit to Falkirk in the second half, they came and had a real go. We caused a few issues ourselves, but for all their perceived dominance, they didn’t create any clear-cut chances.

“We scored the third goal at a really good time, which took the sting out of the game, and we were able to see it out comfortably after that. All in all, a good day’s work.”

Bowie bagged his fifth and sixth goals of the campaign, with the latter particularly pleasing Gray.

“Strikers need to score goals and that gives them confidence. He took the goal in the first half really well; it was a brilliant finish.

“I’d like Kieron to be in the box more, and we’ve spoken a lot about that, which is then brilliant to see the second goal where he’s in the six-yard box. We want to see him there more often.

“The subs came on and impacted the game in a positive way. Josh Campbell did really well when he came on, got his assist, and they all improved the team when we needed them too.”
