Hibs head coach David Gray wants to go into the November international break off the back of a positive result.

Hibs face St Mirren tonight and are looking to get back to winning ways in the William Hill Premiership.

When speaking ahead of this weekend, Gray provided an injury update on his squad.

In terms of injury news, it’s been a positive week for Gray as he’s welcomed back three players to full First Team training.

He told Hibs TV: “The only two lads that are out are Dylan Levitt and Rudi Molotnikov. Dylan is recovering still, so it’ll be after the international break for him, and Rudi is more long term.

“Joe (Newell) and Alasana (Manneh) have trained fully all week without any setbacks at all. Warren O’Hora is the same. Everyone else is fit and healthy if required.

“It’s great for Joe that he’s back. It’s been a real fight for him as his last game was in December. He’s had a lot of setbacks, but he’s remained positive and worked really hard. You can see how he’s benefitted from that hard work when he’s out on the pitch in training.

“You want to go into the break in the most positive frame of mind as possible. You want three points; that’s the plan.

“We know it’ll be a difficult game, the players have trained well this week, and I’ve been quick to remind them that it has been fine margins that have defined games of late. All in all, we’re in a good place internally, and it’s important that the players keep believing and trusting that.

“If we can put in a complete performance against St Mirren it’ll give us a chance to get all three points. If we can do that then we’d go into the break in third position with another three points on the board, which would be really positive.”

St Mirren have been a tricky opponent for the Hibees of late. They were the only team in the top-flight that Gray’s men didn’t beat last season, and Hibs haven’t won at the SMISA Stadium since February 2023.

“They’ve been a difficult opponent for a long time now for every team,” admitted Gray.

“They’re very well organised, very well coached, especially without the ball, and very physical. We know the threat that’s coming.

“We’ve worked on their strengths and how we can overcome them this week to give our players the best possible chance.

“The message this week has been working on our own attacking threat and how we carry on. If our players can play as well as they can, I believe we will have a good evening.”
