After a dramatic night at Hampden Park just two days ago, Scotland are back at the National Stadium tonight as Steve Clarke’s side look to round off a perfect week.
Scotland went a goal down after an hour against Greece but managed to turn the tide, with goals from Ryan Christie, Lewis Ferguson and Hibs target Lyndon Dykes eventually securing a crucial 3-1 victory.
The win means Scotland remain in second place in Group C, only behind leaders Denmark on goal difference.
The Danes put six past Belarus on Thursday evening and Scotland will be hoping to secure win against the same opponents on Sunday to continue our strong start to World Cup qualifying – with Thursday’s three points adding to the four secured in September.
With Denmark facing third-placed Greece in Copenhagen on Sunday, it could be a pivotal evening in determining the final places in Group C.
Scotland striker Dykes who was linked with a loan move to Easter Road in the summer said: “We have to give credit to Greece on Thursday. They played well and they’ve got great players. We didn’t play amazing but we had each other’s back.
“The crowd was behind us and we needed them and we got the result at the end. In these massive games we need the points.
“It’ll be another massive game on Sunday and if we win it’ll be another great camp.”
“We know what we need to do but we can’t underestimate Belarus. They’re a good side but we’ve played them before so we know what we can do against them.
“Now we’re at home with the fans behind us, in our stadium and our place.
“I’ve got full confidence in this team. We’re doing really well and with the fans behind us, we know what to do and this camp could be absolutely massive for us if we get six points.”
