Scotland’s women’s hockey team are now in Belgium for two games against the host nation as they continue their build-up to the World Cup in August.
It is an ideal preparation as the Belfius venue will also host the world cup and the Tartan Hearts go into the double-header with the hosts after three games against England at Bisham.
Scotland lost the triple header 1-0, 3-0 and 1-0, but England are ranked No 7 in the word and the Scots are No 14.
Chris Duncan, Scotland’s head coach, can take heart that the games were hard-fought and Scotland have other opportunities to sharpen their play after Belgium.
They host South Africa at Peffermill before heading back to Belgium for the world cup.
Scotland open against Germany, ranked No 5, on Saturday, August 15 (10.30), then face America, rated No 11, and end their Pool B games against Argentina, No 2 in the world.
