Hibs defender Warren O’Hora admits the players are hurting after yesterday’s 1-0 defeat in the Edinburgh Derby at Tynecastle.
The game looked to be heading for a stalemate, but Hibs were dealt a sucker-punch as Craig Halkett’s last-minute goal secured all three points for the home side.
Speaking to Hibs TV after the match, O’Hora shared his frustration with the manner of the goal conceded.
“You can imagine how we feel in the dressing room. It’s a tough one to take, there’s no doubt about it.
“The dressing room is very low at the moment. From our perspective, to lose the game in that manner is extremely tough to take.
“It’s a cross in the box and there are three people at the back post. That is obviously not good enough from our perspective.
“I didn’t think it was a great game, overall. It was a very cagey for both teams, which can be expected in the derby.
“It probably had a draw run all over it, if I’m honest. So to lose a goal in the last minute really hurts, it’s a horrible day, to be honest.”
Whilst the players are hurting, O’Hora highlighted the importance of bouncing back stronger after the international break.
“We will need to dust ourselves off, we need to go again. We will have to work hard to improve, but I have no doubt we will.
“It will be hard, but I’m sure the guys in the building and the staff will be able to pick us up – they’ve been brilliant for us. I know that in my mind, this one is going to hurt now, that is quite normal.
“But we will go away and reflect on it. It will be tough – we’ve got the international break to look back on it, look at areas where we can improve, and we need to come back stronger.”
