Brett Perlini netted a double as Cardiff Devils skated to a 6-2 victory over bottom club Fife Flyers in the Elite League at Kirkcaldy.

The home side were outshot 45-17 by the fourth-placed team in the ten-strong league watched by a crowd of 802 and they witnessed their side being 3-0 down after the first session.

The visitors won the second period 2-1 and the third was drawn 1-1.

It took Devils 1min 05sec to open their account, Jarrod Gourley netting, then Bradley Schoonbaert popped in No 2 after 1min 28sec, then Perlini scored his first on the power play with Tyler Heidt called for delaying the game. Time 17min 47sec.

It was 4-0 when Cole Sanford scored after 23min 58sec and 5-0 after Perlini scored his second on the power play with Heidt in the sin bin, this time for hooking. Time 30min 01sec.

Fife opened their scoring through Kieran Craig with 37min 22sec on the clock with assists from Massimo Carozza and Lucas Chiodo before Joey Martin scored the sixth for the visitors on the power play after 48min 09sec with Charles-Antoine Paiement in the penalty box.

Fife scored their second after 50min 24sec with Michael Cichy on the mark with Heidt setting up the chance.

So another disappointing night for Fife fans and Flyers now face a long road trip to Guildford Flames on Saturday (18.00) before entertaining Coventry Blaze on Sunday (17.15).
