Former Hibs player Simon Murray’s late equaliser at Easter Road yesterday denied his former club their first Scottish Premiership win of the season.

David Gray made three changes following the Premier Sports Cup exit to Celtic.

Rocky Bushiri, Josh Campbell and Nathan Moriah-Welsh were replaced by new signings Hyeokkyu Kwon, Nicky Cadden, and Rudi Molotnikov.

The visitors took the lead in the eighth minute following yet another mistake in the Hibs defence when  Lyall Cameron took full advantage of a slack ball from Jordan Obita and he found Scott Tiffoney, who slotted past Josef Bursik from close range.

It looked as though Dundee had doubled their advantage when Cameron fired the ball into the net but VAR ruled that Seb Palmer-Houlden was offside in the build up.

Hibs eventually came more into the game and following two Cadden free-kicks from just outside the area, Martin Boyle stepped up to take the third and his sweetly struck efforr flew into the net just before the break.

Hibs enjoyed more possession after the restart and took the lead fittingly in the 71st minute when supporters were providing a minute’s applause for fan John Campbell who sadly passed away earlier this month.

Substitute Kieron Bowie rewarded his manager by displaying skill and strength in the box before firing the ball into the net.

It looked as though the three points were heading to Easter Road but another defensive lapse allowed Murray space and the in-form Dundee striker slotted through Bursik’s legs to grab a sixth goal of the season and a draw for his team.

After the final whistle Hibs head coach David Gray told BBC Sportsound: “We came out second half in a much better frame of mind and we were on the front foot and dominating the game.ib

“It is a new back four. We need to be critical of ourselves to make sure we’re doing everything we can. We need to find the answers to these as quickly as possible.”

Dundee manager Tony Docherty said: “I’ve got to be proud of my team, to be 2-1 down in the 87th minute, to dig out an equaliser. I thought we were going to go on and win it at the end.”
