Versatile Bayern Munich and German midfielder Joshua Kimmich are edging closer to an exit from the Bavarian club. The 28-year-old is in the final 18 months of his contract, which runs till 2025. Reluctance and roadblocks to signing a new contract have raised speculations.

Kimmich has been instrumental for Bayern’s successive seasons in Germany year after year. Over the years, His superb technical skills and exceptional work rate made him an integral part of the team under several managers. Thomas Tuchel may likely part ways with the seasoned midfielder as the club aims to sign 22-year-old French midfielder Manu Kone and Fulham standout Joao Palhinha.

One of the primary factors fueling the exit rumors is the reported stalemate in contract negotiations between Kimmich’s Agent and Bayern Munich. Kimmich naturally seeks a contract that reflects his value to the team. Recent reports state his reasons are more functional than financial. Should the 28-year-old leave, Bayern would risk unsettling the balance within their squad.

Kimmich may be seeking a new challenge in his career. Given his exceptional talent, he would be a coveted asset for top European clubs. Kimmich is on the wish list of potential clubs willing to pay for his services, including Barcelona, Manchester City, Manchester United, and Liverpool.

Losing a player of Joshua Kimmich’s caliber would undoubtedly have a significant impact on the Bavarian Giants. Bayern would need to carefully consider their options and find solutions to fill the void his potential departure would cause.
