The ‘At Home’ digital programme features sixteen films, available for free, to view internationally and released throughout November culminating in a special viewing event to celebrate St Andrews Day.

They include short film series ‘Edinburgh is a Story’, five powerful performances in iconic Edinburgh locations; two full-length concerts recorded at this year’s Festival and six intimate music sessions.

A new work has been commissioned from Scottish Ballet for Edinburgh International Festival’s 2022 At Home digital programme, allowing audiences to enjoy world-class artists from the 2022 programme worldwide

The performance will be available to watch for free globally on our YouTube channel on 29 November – an exclusive commission, the work is choreographed by Nicholas Shoesmith, recently appointed Associate Choreographer at Scottish Ballet, and performed by dancer James Garrington. (The trailer that features the performance can be seen below).

Beth Allan, Producer – Forest of Black said, “Part of the brief was that we really wanted to see lot of Edinburgh, and some of the films, we wanted to move from different locations, to be able to see some sights and parts of the city that maybe you haven’t seen before on film, or you don’t see as much, maybe to see them in a different way than you might normally.

Nick Shoesmith, Associate Choreographer – Scottish Ballet said, “We’re filming in different locations that give us a variety of different elements, so it’s not just something that can be performed on stage, its really specific to where it is”.

“Looking at different elements, we’ve got some air upon some other hills, and some nice, long grass, so that we can really see air as another element”.
