Police Scotland have been working with The City of Edinburgh Council to secure a new CCTV camera for the Old Town area to target antisocial behaviour, drug misuse, street drinking and violence.
The camera will assist in preventing and detecting crime and should provide additional reassurance to residents, visitors, business owners and service users in the area.
Funding for the camera was provided from Police Scotland’s Local Partnership and Initiative Fund.
In addition, generous donations were received from Hillcrest Homes, The University of Edinburgh, Castlerock Edinvar and Morrison Construction who have been working on the new Panmure St Ann’s development in the Cowgate.
