Police have released images of two men they wish to speak to regarding an ongoing investigation into an incident which took place around 12.30am on Thursday, 2 January, 2020, at the Canongate, during which two men were assaulted. 

The first man is described as 5ft 7ins in height, tanned complexion, stocky build, early 30s, wearing a dark flat peaked baseball cap, dark clothing, jeans and who spoke with an east London accent.

The second man is described as 6ft 1in – 6ft 2ins, tanned complexion, average build, dark zipped hooded top and jeans. 

Detective Constable Pete Shannon, of Gayfield CID, said: “Both victims were left traumatised from this incident. We are eager to trace the men pictured as we believe they may be able to assist our enquiries, and would urge anyone who may recognise them to get in touch with us as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0151 of 2 January, 2020, or report this anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
