The body of a 45-year-old woman has been recovered near to the Forth Road Bridge.
Emergency services including the Queensferry Coastguard and RNLI were called to the scene at 8.10pm last night.
The woman has not been named at this time.
The death is not being treated as suspicious.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.10pm on Friday, officers were called to the Forth Road Bridge in South Queensferry, after the body of a 45-year-old woman was recovered.
“Enquiries to establish the exact cause of death are ongoing.
“However there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.
“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
