Police have released images of a man they wish to speak to who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries in relation to a serious assault which took place  around 2.50am on Thursday, 20 February 2020, on Hanover Street.

A 37-year-old man was assaulted and was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary where he was treated for a serious facial injury.

The man pictured is described as white, aged 18-25, of slim build with short light brown hair. He is wearing a dark coloured floral patterned short sleeved shirt and dark trousers.

Detective Sergeant Berry of Gayfield CID said: “The attack left the victim with a serious facial injury which required hospital treatment. I would urge anyone with information relating to the man in the CCTV images to contact police as soon as possible.”
