Following a period of temporary closure, Dovecot Studios – including the Dovecot Shop – in Edinburgh is reopening to the public from 15 July.
Visitors will be able to visit a new exhibition which had been scheduled to open in April, ‘Mid-Century Modern: Art & Design from Conran to Quant’, as well as the Dovecot Shop which presents contemporary art, craft and design from local makers.
A number of new measures have been put in place to provide visitors with the best and safest experience possible, including increased cleaning, protective screens, encouragement of physical distancing, time-slots for exhibition tickets, and hand-sanitising stations.
A highlight of reopening is a brand new exhibition, ‘Mid-Century Modern: Art & Design from Conran to Quant’. This exhibition explores the lifestyle revolution that swept through post-war Britain, changing the social landscape forever.
Bringing about this change through a lens of art and design were a group of radical young revolutionaries including Mary Quant, Terence Conran, Eduardo Paolozzi, and Bernard and Laura Ashley.
Tickets are available for July and August with timed slots for visitors to choose from.

The exhibition is supported by The Dovecot Foundation and organised by the Fashion and Textile Museum, London.
